The travertine table and pedestal designed for the dining area of a residence in Göktürk create a balanced whole with the space's simple wooden floor, leather bench, and warm texture palette. The cream veins of the travertine take on different tones in the house's changing light throughout the day.
The edge profile of the table was crafted using a multi-layered cutting technique. This detail gives it a presence closer to an architectural element rather than a piece of furniture, allowing the natural movement of the travertine to flow uninterrupted on the surface.The joint between the tabletop and the pedestal was designed with architectural proportions in mind. The soft texture of the travertine combined with the warm tone of the leather bench creates a simple yet strong character.The directions of the travertine veins were carefully aligned on both the tabletop and the pedestal. Thus, three separate surfaces — the top, the profile, and the base — read like different sections of a single stone. All surfaces were treated with ELIOGARD protection technology to ensure durability for daily use.
The dining area is softly separated within the open plan of the living room by a wooden partition shelf. The table is positioned as the quiet focal point of the home's social center. Pah Studio's custom size and form approach for the space made it possible to produce a piece that complements the architectural unity instead of a standard piece of furniture.
